It’s not the 1st quarter that has given the Cavs problems as they have have dominated all 1st quarters in the series(140-98) . Mo Williams must have thought his guaranteed win was for tonight as he came out on fire hitting 3 triples in the first 4:38 . He scored 24 points nailing 6-9 from 3 and finally giving LeBron James an additional 20+ point scorer. Then the other pattern soon followed, the blowing of the lead as the Magic outscored Cleveland 37-21 in the 2nd quarter topped off with a 3 from Rashard Lewis with 0.7 seconds left in the half to close the once 22 point margin to 1 (56-55). Bad memories of the past games haunted my thoughts as the Magic yet again dominated the 3rd (133-103) and pushed up to an 8 point lead to end the quarter 79-78. That’s when the LeBron James show begin to air. It seemed as if Mike Brown and the Cavaliers threw out any game plan and decided to put their season in the hands of the league MVP. On nearly every possession of the 4th quarter James took the ball at the top of the key and played 1 on 1. He had his hand in on 29 of the 34 Cleveland points in the quarter 17 of his own and key assists to a cutting Varejao at the rim as well as 3’s from Daniel Gibson and Mo Williams. It was picturesque of the playoff slogan “Amazing”. He showed no fear taking the ball directly into the chest of Defensive Player of the Year award winner Dwight Howard drawing Howard’s 6th foul in an And1 situation. “You never want to disappoint the home crowd by not coming out and play as hard as you can. It was win or go home,” said James. James put up a game for the ages ending up with his 4th career playoff triple double with 37 points 14 rebounds and 12 assists. James joined an illustrious group this being his 16th consecutive 25+ point playoff game tying him for 2nd most with Michael Jordan and only 4 behing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who holds the record with 20. James had previously recored 40+ in all three games that the Cavs had lost, he didn’t tonight but they won. So what’s the difference? He finally had help, as previously stated Williams dropped in 24, Delonte West had 13, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16 , it was finally a team effort. In the entire history of the NBA only 8 teams have ever came back from being down 3-1 and now the Cavaliers are one step closer to making that 9. The pressure is now on Orlando to close it out Saturday on their home court as there is no way Stan Van Gundy wants to play a game 7 in the Q, especially against the greatest player on the planet.

LeBron's Magic Leads to 1-1 Series Tie with Orlando

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 253px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/ShijRRksNuI/AAAAAAAAAK0/k4x0zT77NsM/s320/60c055e2-3288-4e06-abef-2f28df879c23.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339196875418121954" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers stormed out of the gate yet again as they often do at the Q last night looking to even the series and get the momentum back on their side, and they started early taking a 30-16 lead after only 1 quarter. The crowd was jumping and it seemed the game 1 let down was well in the past and the Cavaliers that had simply steam-rolled thus far through the playoffs were back on track. The Cavs had figured out how to contain Dwight Howard, they were putting him at the free throw line (4-8) rather than watching him tear the shot clock down with a thunderous dunk. LeBron James was taking it straight to the rim, as if he was not to be denied. Sasha Pavlovic, after suggestion by LeBron James to coach Brown, was playing key minutes and delivering both defensively and offensively by putting down 9 points, which had already out numbered the entire Cavs game 1 bench production(5). At one point in the second quarter the roof of the Q was about to come off as the Cavaliers amassed a 43-20 lead. Then slowly the Magic begin to hit one three, two threes and here they come and they had cut the lead down to only 12 by halftime. Then here it came, that punch in the gut, that no pro sports championships since 1964 feeling began to arise. The Magic's 16 point comeback in game 1 left an eerie buzz in the air,and it was an almost scare of is the same thing going to happen. It only grew worse as the 3rd quarter progressed. The Magic won the 2nd consecutive 3rd quarter 26-21 (30-19 game 1) and by the start of the fourth the once 23 point Cavs lead was down to 7. I began to wonder myself what is happening here? Where are you Mo Williams (6-19 game 1, 7-21 game 2), this is the stage where you prove them wrong for waiting until after injuries to make you an All-Star. The once ecstatic Q was becoming deadly silent, the fans were wishing the seconds off the clock as the Magic creeped closer and closer. Then with 48 seconds left in the game Hedo Turkoglu nailed a 3 pointer that tied the game at 93. LeBron James answered with a strong drive to the basket with everyone thinking an And1 just occured but no James had been called for traveling. Then Hedo "MJT" Turkoglu hits a 12 foot jumper with 1.0 second left to put the Magic up 95-93. It seemed that the Magic had done it, came to Cleveland (43-2) and taken a dominant 2-0 lead heading back to their homecourt, when the basketball gods shined down on LeBron James. With merely enough time for a catch and shoot, Mo Williams waited as LeBron made an inside cut to create a little space from Turkoglu, tossed him the ball at the top of the key, LeBron caught,turned, faded and IT'S GOOD!!!! LeBron James hit the 3 pointer as time expired to tie the series and possibly ressurected the Cavs momentum if not their season all together. James finished the game with 35, Wiilaims despite poor shooting had 19 including 8 in the 4th quarter. Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Delonte West both added 12.

New LeBron Puppet Commercial

Cavaliers Produce Reel in Highlight Factory

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 285px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SgjdAfhAY6I/AAAAAAAAAKk/VUHAQGOT9yE/s320/c2f2d92d-f002-4f70-acf1-58c6cae517cf.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5334756759150027682" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers have got to be hands down "the team" to beat. I mean there are so many one liners that pop into my head I don't know where to start so I'll begin with Don't Wake the Sleeping Giant. Everytime LeBron James would touch the ball Phillips Arena would erupt in a whirlwind of boos. Did Atlanta fans learn nothing from Toronto fans, or even more recent game 1 when James exploded for 47 points and joined Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to score 45 grab 10 boards and dish out 8 assists. Yet it happened again tonight, James would get the ball and boos would arise,so what happened, James would score or find his teammates and they would score. There was even a moment when LeBron nailed a jumper and looked over to a courtside fan, and simply pointed to his own chest and said that's exactly what I need. Back to the actual game at hand the Cavaliers are simply dominant.After the second close halftime score in a row(46-45, 40-38 both Cavs leads) the Cavaliers managed to stretch out another double digit victory (84-74) extending their own NBA record to 8 consectutive. But it wasn't all good all the way, LeBron was somewhat aggravated at the Cavs "lobbying " for foul calls. James rallied his troops and told them it was up to them to win the game not the refs and to lay off. Can he be that mature that young, is he really 24? Yes he is King but there truly is no I in team. LeBron put in 27 points 8 rebounds and 8 assists, a career night for many NBA players but for James just another day at the office. Yet the other players,Mo one night, Delonte another, then maybe big Z will step up another. Though tonight belonged to Delonte West who came up huge scoring 21 points, including a posterizing left-handed jam at the rim that really swung the momentum in Cleveland's favor for the last time. He was 50% (2-4) from 3 point land and added 4 rebounds 6 assists. Mo Williams added 12 points all coming from behind the arc (4-7). At one point in the final stretch of the game on 5 straight possessions the Cavs scored four 3 pointers and one old fashioned 3 point play really putting the Nail in the Coffin.And as I was a witness Atlanta was a true Tale of Two Cities as it rained boos the entire game, in both games 1 and 2 , the closer the end came the softer the boos got and the louder, previously few and far betweeen, the M-V-P chants became until eventually echoing throughout the arena.

Cavs Cruise to 2-0 Series Lead

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 193px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SgOlYdOq2sI/AAAAAAAAAJ8/vaaF752KjSE/s320/26117ec4-db8c-4e1d-b10c-f99a5f3ad8f8.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333288223318399682" />
Are we sure the winner of the Kentucky Derby wasn’t named “Cleveland” because that’s exactly what the thoroughbred Cleveland Cavaliers looked liked in game 2 jumping out of the gates and never looking back. The Cavaliers racked up an insurmountable 59-35 halftime lead, capped off by a pull-up three by LeBron James just inside of half-court, on their way to a remarkable 105-85 beat down of the Atlanta Hawks. If it’s even possible, the Cavs seem to be getting stronger and stronger with each game they play. The entire starting rotation was benched after the 3rd quarter as the Cavs point total at that mark tied the eventual total of the Hawks throughout the entire game(85). LeBron James scored 27 (9-14) , Mo Williams had 15 (5-11), Delonte West 14 (5-10), Anderson Varejao (6-9) scored 12, and the only starter in single digits Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 6 (3-6) and keep in mind all in 3 periods. The second unit played the entire 4th quarter giving up 30 points to the Hawks and losing 10 points off their 30 point spread but they were playing hard. Plus this gives younger players like Darnell Jackson valuable playoff experience in case of injuries or foul trouble later down the line. Wally Szczerbiak scored 17 (7-9), several off powerful low post moves and even a rare jam off of a stellar behind the back pass from James on a fast break run-out. Yet there was a scare for Cleveland in the 3rd quarter as Delonte West was poked in the eye by Hawk Zaza Pachulia and he did not return, but possibly just because of the Cavs huge lead. And to go from bad to worse for the Hawks, who are already missing Al Horford and Marvin Williams(combined 25 points and 15 rebounds per game )their All-Star Joe Johnson twisted his ankle and is considered doubtful for game 3 Saturday night at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena. The Cavaliers are now only the 2nd team in NBA history to win their 1st 6 playoff games by double digits(18.2), and 94% of all teams leading a best of 7 series 2-0 eventually win the series.

Cavs Clip Hawks in Game 1

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 207px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SgD-Ywkxh1I/AAAAAAAAAJk/tXCHslRjhT8/s320/641a13a5-621a-4e0f-92d7-337a8bf4f550.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332541660116125522" />
After being named MVP LeBron James came right out of the gates and performed as such bringing down the house with a fierce two handed slam within the games first 15 seconds. James led the team in scoring raining down 34, 22 in the 1st half, and adding 10 boards, in only 34 minutes as the Cavs pulled out an impressive 99-72 game 1 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Cleveland's starting backcourt matched LeBron's point total of 34 with Mo Williams scoring 21 (four 3's) and Delonte West adding 13. The game was close throughout the entire 1st half with Josh Smith scoring 17 helping the Hawks stay within 5 points and a halftime score of 49-44.It was obvious the Cavs had not played in a while (9 days) but as the game went on the Cav's regained their game leg's and never looked back. Mo Williams and the rest of the Cavaliers turned up the heat in the second half and outscored the Hawks 50-28 while allowing only 11 fourth quarter points. The win puts the Cavaliers at 5-0 this post-season with all 5 victories coming in double digit fashion and an average margin of victory of 17.8 per game.

LBJ = MVP

In just his sixth year in the league LeBron James became the first ever Cleveland Cavalier to win the NBA's most valuable player award Monday afternoon. By his own preference he was presented the award at his high school gymnasium ,St.Vincent-St.Mary. "This is a place where all my dreams started and where I thought they could become real," James said. He received 109 first place votes out of a possible 121. He was accompanied by all of his teammates and even had them all come on stage with him. He had a superb season dominating the league averaging 28.4 points 7.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game as well as a career best 93 blocks. James had an NBA best 7 triple doubles and won the player of the month award 4 times. He also finished second in the voting only behind Dwight Howard for defensive player of the year. James led the Cavaliers to an all-time team record 66 wins and only 16 losses and the overall number one seed throughout the playoffs. All of his accolades and only 24 years old, LeBron may need another mansion by the end of his career just to house the hardware.

Bring Out the Brooms

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 302px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SfUA1C166zI/AAAAAAAAAIk/NBCGlt_BsYI/s320/59a740eb-e5b4-490f-af7d-4d54488c362d.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5329166645358947122" />
Ok,so when your entire starting backcourt(Mo Williams, Delonte West) goes 1-18, scores 4 points combined and you still win by 11 points what do you think will happen when they pour in 36 (Mo 24, Delonte 12)? Answer- a 21 point 99-78 victory to complete the clean sweep of the Detroit Pistons. Yet another testament to coach Mike Brown and his diligent work because he had the Cavaliers fine tuned and ready to perform Sunday afternoon. Though the box score shows an impressive 21 point margin of victory, the entire game had the feel of a 40 point beat down. Kobe Bryant should be watching his clock and counting down the seconds left because LeBron James is closing in on,if he's not already there, the title of the NBA's best player. James torched Detroit with 36 points 13 rebounds and 8 assists. "You're only born with a certain amount of gifts," he said. "You have to take advantage of them, and put in the work. My work ethic has helped me be the player I am today." He was hitting 3's from all over the floor, driving the lane for dunks, and barely missed hitting his head on the rim when he skied for a swat that sent the ball in the second row. Plus today it wasn't only James making noise, the Cavalier starters went from 49 points last game to 86. This win puts the Cavs in pretty good company being only the third team in NBA history to sweep a series and have double digit victories in all four games(1980 Celtics 2004 Pacers). Cleveland now gets to sit back and play spectator as they await their round two opponent in either Atlanta or Miami.

Can You Look So Bad and Still look So Good??

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 232px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SfJ7fBZ4Z7I/AAAAAAAAAIc/daAst2zItYI/s320/joesmith.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328457082015868850" />

The Cavaliers were slightly off their game Friday night but with major help from the bench they were able to come away with a 79-68 victory over the Detroit Pistons and take an almost insurmountable 3-0 series lead(no team has ever won a best of 7 series after trailing 0-3). The starting backcourt of Mo Williams and Delonte West combined 1-18 and only 4 points collectively. Cleveland's starters only managed 49 points with LeBron claiming 25 of them, James missed a triple double by only 1 assist, he had 25 points 11 rebounds and 9 assists. It was a great time for Joe Smith to have his playoff career high draining 6-8 from the field and 6-7 from the foul line scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 boards. His previous high this year was only 13 and that came way back when he was still a member of the Thunder. The Cavs kept a steady lead for most of the game until late in the 3rd when Detroit went on a run and the game headed into the 4th quarter tied at 53. Halfway through the quarter Mo Williams threw up an alley-oop to James, in the midst of an 18-2 run by the Cavs that helped them to seperate themselves and eventually finish off the game. The Cavaliers for the most part of the first 3 quarters looked terrible, but to play that poorly and still come away with a victory, and a road win on top of that is remarkable. It truly speaks volume for NBA coach of the year Mike Brown and his teams defensive mentality. Everyone was wondering what the Cavaliers would do when they faced adversity, well they took the test and they passed with flying colors.

Awesome Cavaliers Heinekin Spoof

Men Among Boys

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/Se-XolqjvnI/AAAAAAAAAIM/MhcdbovDxXE/s320/56b022ea-5e0f-44db-a470-37c4316bc903.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327643607763762802" />
The Cavaliers looked no doubt amazing yet again Tuesday night holding the Detroit Pistons to a max of 18 points a quarter through the first 3 stints.

LeBron James looked as if he was at the playground, doing whatever he wanted when he wanted. Mo Williams shook off his first game gitters and was sinking shot after shot while James took his regular early 2nd quarter blow.

“It was beautiful.” Mo said. The Cavs took what seemed an insurmountable 27 point lead into the fourth quarter.

The entire starting lineup seemed to be done for the night except Delonte West who stayed out to man the second unit, when things turned and they turned quickly.

The Pistons second unit led by Will Bynum, nailed a flurry of shots and brought the team all the way back to within 7 when the inevitable happened, the Cavs big boys had to check back in and finish what they started. T

he Cavaliers pushed the lead back up to 16 before finishing the game 94-82. “We lost our focus,” Williams said. “We all knew it, but it’s nothing to get overly concerned about. I don’t think it will happen again.”

The Cavalier starters have just simply dominated that of the Pistons outscoring them by 53 points in the first 2 games. James finished up this game with 29 points 13 rebounds and 6 assists despite missing most of the 4th quarter. Mo Williams added 21 and Delonte West hit the 20 mark as well.

One Down Fifteen to Go

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 293px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SeueQkBqPHI/AAAAAAAAAIE/JK_wjAJRE84/s320/2ace344c-12c2-4191-9c5d-5028c1048509.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5326524991681477746" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers sent a major statement Saturday night opening up their bid for an NBA championship run by man handling the Detroit Pistons 102-84.
The game actually appeared a great deal closer throughout on the scoreboard until late, but there was always that feeling that Cleveland had total control and no matter what was not going to let that game slip away.Superstar LeBron James seems to shine just a tad bit brighter when he matches up against the Pistons throwing down 38 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists. This being only the second time in his brief playoff career going for at least 35, 7,and 7.
The only other time being in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals when he basically put the entire Cavs team on his back going for 48 points and the entire team’s last 25. James had 22 points at the half, 3 of which coming from a running bank shot just inside the half court line.Mo Williams while starting off a slow 1 out of 5 and only 2 first half points rallied in the second half ending up 5-14 and scoring 12 points including two huge 3’s to help extend the Cavaliers lead. This is definitely an excellent way to start the playoffs. Now only 15 more wins and we reach our “One Goal.”

Fan Appreciation Night Cavs fall in OT

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 215px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SedO4R3aJpI/AAAAAAAAAH8/BzzxEr5IB7A/s320/e7582bf5-16be-4d49-9ae6-376edbf4a0ed.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325311813164344978" />

It took overtime to find out if the Cavaliers were going to tie history with the 1985-86 Celtics, but they fall(literally) just short of their goal losing to the 76ers 111-110 in overtime Wednesday night. Mike Brown decided not to risk injury and sat LeBron James, Mo Williams, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and only played Delonte West and Anderson Varejao only in the first half. Daniel "Boobie" Gibson hit a deep 3,one of his four triples, to tie the game and send it to overtime but in OT he slipped with 3 seconds left with a game winning oppurtunity and the history making chance fell along with him. "Man, the lane opened up," Gibson said. "Everything was feeling good for me, too. I felt like if I could just get an attempt at the rim it would go in." Gibson led the Cavaliers with 28 points and Wally Szczerbiak had 21 points 8 rebounds 8 assists. The 2 Andres for Philly combined for 54 points, 30 for Miller and 24 for Iguodala. The Cavaliers finish at Quicken Loans Arena 39-2, and 25-1 against Eastern Conference.

The NBA Championship Is Coming Through Cleveland

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 242px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SeUDVZpDyXI/AAAAAAAAAHs/7LgJr6JGT9Y/s320/37428d9a-06ea-4847-9eaa-388bcb4de8f7.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324665800630716786" />
LeBron James scores 37 as the Cavs put down the Pacers in Indiana Monday night 117-109. This victory puts Cleveland at 65-16 and guarantees the overall #1 seed in the NBA playoffs meaning to win the title you have to beat Cleveland in their backyard (39-1),which has only happened once by the Lakers. "It's one step, however, it's a big step," James said. "When you consider all the great teams, all the great players, all the great coaches and all the great systems that are in the NBA, for us to finish with the best record is a tremendous feat. And that is something the franchise should be proud of." With his team having clinched the top record with a game to spare, coach Mike Brown will likely make James and other key players spectators against Philadelphia -- even though it could cost the Cavs a shot at more NBA history. "We've got to do what's best for the ring," he said. "We've got home-court advantage already. We're not fighting for breaking a record anymore. We're fighting for that ring." Cleveland has had a 21-game win improvement from last season's 45 win campaign. Only one team had a better improvement the season after winning 45 games (1994-95 Bulls had a plus-25 improvement).

Cavaliers Dominate Celtics and Do a Little Dance!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 236px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SeUBEE1xXZI/AAAAAAAAAHk/mbnW5952-WU/s320/8401e551-b2b0-4d83-aa9f-a077768fcb06.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5324663303965859218" />
LeBron James made five 3-pointers and scored 29 points before swaying to the music in his seat, and the Cavaliers throttled the defending NBA champions 107-76 on Sunday to move within one win of matching the 1985-86 Celtics for the best home record in league history. At 39-1, the Cavs can tie Boston's hallowed mark against Philadelphia on Wednesday night. But equaling those Celtics of Bird, McHale and Parrish won't mean anything if the Cavs, who have already clinched the Eastern Conference's No. 1 playoff seed, can't dethrone the current guys in green sometime this spring. Flexing their defensive muscles, the Cavs led 31-9 after the first quarter, opened a 30-point lead in the second and turned a possible playoff preview into a rout. It was Cleveland's most lopsided win ever in 173 games against the Celtics. Boston has lost its last eight regular-season games in Cleveland, the Celtics' longest current road losing streak against any opponent. Cleveland led after one quarter 31-9, the last time the Cavs held a team to 9 points or fewer in a quarter was in 1999.

It's Great to be King

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 202px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SeADx5qhdWI/AAAAAAAAAHc/HYWdIr6Exzg/s320/kingj.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5323258915379574114" />
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers clinch the #1 seed and home court throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs tonight with a 102-92 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. It has not always been a good thing lately to be the #1 seed. We'll hope to rewrite history though because five of the last six No. 1 seeds have gone down in the conference finals. The King had 27 points and 10 assists. Mo Williams and Wally Szczerbiak both put in 18 points. "It means a lot," James said. "To set a goal and accomplish it, we should be proud." No team has played better at their home arena this season than the Cavs. They're 38-1 at Quicken Loans Arena, with the only loss coming against the Los Angeles Lakers. Cleveland (64-15) entered with a half-game lead over the Lakers for the best record in the league. The Cavaliers have two home games remaining and if they win both they will tie the 1985-86 Boston Celtics for the best single season home record in NBA league history.

Cleveland Just Keeps On Rocking!!!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/Sd7HIPQobZI/AAAAAAAAAHU/bc6ko8K6eQk/s320/85d2027c-65af-4860-9fef-f7e4696fd33b.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322910753947676050" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers improve to 38-1 at Quicken Loans Arena after a 98-86 win over the Washington Wizards Tuesday night. The Cavaliers avenge a defeat to the Wizards just two games back. They also welcome back Anderson Varejao and Ben Wallace. Anderson recorded 10 points 7 rebounds and Wallace had 7 points 6 rebounds. LeBron James led the way yet again with 21 points 7 rebounds 6 assists, and he sat most of the 4th quarter due to the Cavs large lead. They have won 15 straight in their home building and are 24-0 against the Eastern Conference there this season. The 38-1 mark is the second best in NBA history. The Celtics went 40-1 in 1985-86. The Cavs can match if they win their last two home games. The Cavs lead the L.A. Lakers for best record in the NBA by 1 game.

Home Sweet Home

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 207px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/Sdv1m6oaKTI/AAAAAAAAAHM/CRvF2ISmmvM/s320/ec707825-8b72-4726-b45f-3b4175570232.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322117433590950194" />

The Cavaliers avoided their first three-game losing skid of the season Sunday with a 20 point blowout of the San Antonio Spurs 101-81, improving to a league-best 37-1 home record. Locked into attack mode from the start, LeBron James scored 38 points, 18 in the first quarter and Mo Williams and Delonte West added 22 apiece. James, Williams and West shot a combined 33-of-51 for the Cavs, who are the 38th team in league history to win at least 62 games. Embarrassed in a 29-point loss Friday in Orlando, a humbling defeat that came one day after a humiliating loss at lowly Washington, Cleveland played with purpose at both ends. Cleveland improved to 26-4 against the Western Conference this season, marking the most wins by an East team against the West since the 76ers won 27 games in 1977-78.

New Streak But Not What We Wanted

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 244px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/Sdvz3O2cf1I/AAAAAAAAAG8/kaIzj8DAL-8/s320/b0ca18dd-38a7-462f-8de4-b092329b5c09.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5322115514873184082" />
Never in LeBron James' entire basketball life could he recall being down by more than 40 points. Not in the NBA. Not in high school. Not even playing pickup basketball as a kid, but that's exactly what he and the rest of the Cavaliers experienced Friday night. The Orlando Magic handed the Cleveland Cavaliers their most lopsided loss of the season with a 116-87 blowout. James finished with 26 points and nine rebounds but never did find his rhythm, shooting 7-for-20 from the floor. James stayed in for part of the fourth quarter to help Cleveland dodge its worst loss since he was drafted in 2003. Only Daniel Gibson's 3-pointer in the waning seconds saved Cleveland from that fate. "It's not about how many games you lose, it's about how you lose them," James said. "The last two games weren't how we play the game of basketball." LeBron was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March on Friday for the 10th time in his career and the third time this season. He was joined by Mike Brown, who earned the East's Coach of the Month honors to also claim that honor for the third time this season.

Cavs Stumble and End Franchise Record Win Streak

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 238px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SdauptBaMEI/AAAAAAAAAG0/ktds4ST8EFA/s320/96816c7b-95ba-46b5-9abc-85e562283ca5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5320632041268195394" />
The Washington Wizards ended Cleveland's franchise-record 13-game win streak Thursday night 109-101. LeBron James led all scorers with 31 points, and added nine rebounds and six assists in the loss. There did appear to be at least one bit of gamesmanship by James, when he happened to notice some blood on his knee just as Arenas had the ball and was about to attempt a free throw with 1:47 left. Arenas smiled, but he also missed the free throw when play resumed. "It's always something, right?" Arenas said. ... As expected, James was booed early and often. "I'm hated in all 30 cities," James said. "Uh, 29. They love me in Cleveland. The Cavaliers now lead the Lakers by two games for the NBA's best record. It's great to be King. James' appearance on "60 Minutes" on Sunday was the highest rated segment of the CBS newsmagazine. It drew a 10.7 rating (17,354,000 viewers), a rating 26 percent higher than the rest of the show (8.5 rating), according to Nielsen Media Research. The Cavs hope to rebound tomorrow night as they travel to play powerhouse Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.

New Game New Record

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SdQxVYhIQJI/AAAAAAAAAGs/KbM-fm4skoE/s320/3f59a7bc-6698-430b-83b5-b8a4416db898.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319931303259816082" />
It appears that the Cleveland Cavaliers are setting some kind of record everytime they step on the floor. The Cavs franchise record win streak is now 13 after a 79-73 win over the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night. LeBron James made two crucial three-point plays down the stretch and finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. With the win, Cleveland improved to 36-1 at home, won the season series from Detroit for the first time in 11 years, and became just the sixth team in NBA history to win 16 games in one month. The Cavaliers finish off the month of March with a record of 16-1. The last team to win 16 games in a month was San Antonio (16-0) in 1996. "That is amazing," said James, who was reminded the Cavs won just 17 in the season before his arrival. "Ever since the All-Star Game we've been really, really focused. That's an unbelievable month for any team." The Cavs are 22-2 after the All Star break. Cavs C Zydrunas Ilgauskas played in his 700th career game. Only Danny Ferry (723) and Bingo Smith (720) have played in more games for Cleveland.

Cleveland Routs Mavs in Second Half To Reach Franchise Record

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 204px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SdKLOzErRpI/AAAAAAAAAGk/xRwacMHN_1Q/s320/1c031711-ecc7-430a-a0aa-d49315952ef1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319467196222228114" />
James scored 24 points with 12 assists while orchestrating Cleveland's show on and off the floor as the Cavs made more history with a 102-74 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, hitting the 60-win mark and extending their winning streak to a franchise record 12 straight. The Cavs, who earlier this week surpassed the club mark for wins in a season, trailed 30-20 after the first quarter and 49-47 at halftime. After being down two at the half, the Cavaliers outscored the Mavericks 30-11 in the third quarter and cruised the rest of the way. Mo Williams added 22 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas 14 and Joe Smith had his best game since returning to the Cavs, adding 12 points with 13 rebounds and was Cleveland's only consistent player in the first half. Smith also made his first 3-pointer since re-signing with the Cavs. Mike Brown is the fourth-youngest coach with a 60-win season. Mo Williams scored 22 points for the Cavaliers, but sprained the pinkie on his right hand early in the fourth quarter and did not return. X-rays were negative. "I could've come back, but the game was out of reach," Williams said. "It's sore and everything is all right. I'll be ready to play Sunday." The win improved Cleveland to 34-1 at home this season and 14-1 in March. The Cavs are 33-0 when scoring 100 or more points this season. Cleveland, which set a franchise mark for victories in a season Wednesday, will go for its 60th win Sunday against Dallas at home, where the Cavaliers are 34-1. The Cavaliers collected their 58th victory with a 98-87 win over the New Jersey Nets. This is the second consecutive game the Cavs have faced the Nets and they pulled out two victories.The Cavaliers have now won 10 straight games and extend their NBA best home record to 33-1. LeBron James scored 22 points with 11 assists. Mo Williams, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and Anderson Varejao all three pitched in 16 points.Oh and by the way, LeBron James has rewritten the history books each season in the NBA and this season moved into another elite category as he joined Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history with 2,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in at least four seasons!!!! The win was also Cleveland's 25th on the road this season, expanding a franchise record. LeBron James poured in 30 points, grabbed in 11 rebounds, and dished out 8 assists as the Cavs won their ninth consecutive game. This win puts Cleveland at 12-1 so far in the month of March. Ilgauskas added 18 points, he had four blocks and passed John "Hot Rod" Williams (1,200) as the Cavs' career leader with 1,202. LeBron James, Brad Daugherty and Austin Carr are the only other players in franchise history to reach 10,000 points in their careers.The 7-foot-3 Ilgauskas missed the entire 1996-97 and 1999-2000 seasons and played in only 24 games in 2000-01 because of injuries to his feet."Obviously, if I had not missed so many years because of injuries, I would have had more points," said Ilgauskas. "I consider myself lucky to still be playing basketball so I'll take this one and not ask for too much." Mo Williams led the Cavs with 24 points and LeBron was right there with 22. Cleveland finishes 3-1 against Atlanta this season. The Hawks snapped the Cavaliers' 11-game winning streak with a 97-92 victory at Atlanta on Dec. 13. Cleveland plays at New Jersey on Sunday night.

Cavaliers Set Record as They Knock Off Blazers

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 211px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/ScOyKJbPFgI/AAAAAAAAAF0/Wd3x7uSGbzw/s320/8e537c7d-545b-4db4-84d7-3f832f7cbcab.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315287872625907202" />
LeBron James recorded his 24th career triple double and 7th of the season as he led the charge over the Portland Trailblazers Thursday night 97-92. James finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Though still Cleveland needed five extra minutes to seal the deal, as the game went to overtime. Cleveland tied the NBA's record for fewest turnovers in a game with 2. They would have had the record but Mo Williams threw an ill-advised pass in the last seconds and it bounced out of bounds. "That's good basketball. We did a good job protecting the ball," James said. "It's all about the team." The Cavaliers have won seven straight overall, eight straight home games and improved to 31-1 at home this season. The Cavaliers have a 4 1/2-game lead over Boston for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. They also hold a 1 game advantage over the Western Conference leading L.A. James dropped a long 3-pointer with 47.4 seconds left and added two free throws with 8.7 seconds to go to seal the deal. With Cleveland trailing 93-92 in a game soaked in playoff intensity, James, wearing green and white Nikes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, pulled up in front of Orlando's bench and coldly knocked down his 3. Magic center Dwight Howard was called for a 3-second violation on Orlando's next trip, giving the ball back to Cleveland. James was then fouled while shooting and made his two free throws as the crowd serenaded him with chants of "MVP." This was a huge win not only in the record column for Cleveland but also a huge confidence boost because the Magic had won three straight in Cleveland and had beaten the Cavs in seven of their past nine meetings. LeBron James poured in 43 points 12 rebounds and 8 assists. 3 of his assists were beauts leading to Anderson Varejao dunks. LeBron James has scored more than 40 points in nine games this season and 33 times in his career. Mo Williams also added 21 points on the night. Cleveland has won 54 games this season, the most since the 1992-93 season.

Cavaliers sweep season series against Knicks

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 208px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/ScBY8Q-TqkI/AAAAAAAAAFk/TMRvEspzhM4/s320/333aa707-0b95-4902-ae24-ac9fafbaf5a1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5314345352668883522" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the fourth and final match up against the New York Knicks Sunday 98-93. Mo Williams scored 23 points, making all five of his 3-pointers, and James added 19. The Cavaliers didn't put the Knicks away until the final minutes and improved the NBA's best home record to 29-1. Cleveland is the only team undefeated at home against teams from its own conference. With Boston's loss to Milwaukee, the Cavs have opened a 3 1/2-game lead on the defending champions. Cleveland has a chance to widen the gap in the weeks ahead.The Cavs were back home for the first time since clinching the division title on the road. There was no ceremony or mention of the banner, which dangles next to one from 1975-76 -- Cleveland's only other division championship. "We got that before the guys on this team were born," James said. "It's something that we're very proud of." "It's been 33 years, way before I was born," James said. "We put up a banner, that's Central Division champs. That's something we can be very proud of doing." James scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to rally the Cavaliers from a 14-point deficit. Anderson Varejao had 18 points and 12 rebounds for Cleveland, which secured its first division title since 1976 and just the second in franchise history. Wally Szczerbiak scored 12 points and Mo Williams had 10 as the Cavs won their fourth straight and eighth in nine games to tie the Lakers for the NBA's best record at 52-13. Coach Mike Brown was ejected in the third quarter after receiving two technical fouls after Mo Williams was slammed to the foul yet no foul was called. Friday's performance marked LeBron's eighth career 50-point game and third this season. James said he just does what is necessary. "Three straight wins, that's what it's about," he said. "I try to do any and every thing for our team to win basketball games. If I've got to go out and do that, then I'm all for it." Phoenix was down 97-95 and had the ball for what looked to be a breakaway layup, but Jason Richardson decided to go for a 360-degree spin dunk. James raced from far behind and soared to block the attempt. "I just didn't give up on the play, man," James said. "That's just the identity of our team and who I am. I never believe a play is over and done with. A lot of people would give up on that play, but not me." Mo Williams, who scored a career-high 44 the first time the teams met this season, added 30 for Cleveland, including 6-of-10 3s. The Cavs' Delonte West left with a sore lower back halfway through the third quarter after crashing in to Nash for an offensive foul. X-rays were negative. Cleveland improved to 21-4 against the Western Conference. One more Cleveland victory or Detroit loss clinches the Central Division title for the Cavs.

Cavaliers "Clip" L.A. Clippers. The Cavs trailed by 19 points with under 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter but ended the game on a 33-10 run to get their 50th win of the season. LeBron James recorded his second straight triple-double, 22nd of his career, with 32 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. It all came to a finish when Mo Williams hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 6.6 seconds to play to put Cleveland up 85-83. The Cavaliers finshed up the game with a 87-83 victory. "One thing about Mo, he never thinks about the last shot he missed or the last one he made. He gets right back," James said. "He missed shot after shot after shot, but you know if he gets a good look at it in crunch time, he's going to nail it." This win puts Cleveland at 50-13 tying the league's best record with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the Lakers hold the tie breaker beating the Cavs both times they played. The Cavaliers also hold a 1 1/2 game lead over Boston for the top spot in the east.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://cavstastic.blogspot.com/2009/03/cavaliers-clip-la-en-route-to-50th-win.html' title='Cavaliers "Clip" L.A. This is the second time Cleveland has beaten Miami in 6 days, and have won 6 of their last 7 meetings.Dwayne Wade was ejected with under a minute left after arguing with the refs about failing to receive a call in which he felt he was fouled . LeBron also became the second youngest player in NBA history to record 3,000 assists (24 years 67 days) behind only Isiah Thomas (23 years, 322 days).While running their home record to 28-1, the Cavaliers improved to a league-best 13-2 in back-to-back games. That is the last 15 times Cleveland and Boston have played one another, the home team has won. The Celtics topped the Cavaliers 105-94 Friday night. Boston led pretty much the entire game. The game was physical throughout as Celtic Glenn "Big Baby" Davis was ejected after a flagrant 2 on Anderson Varejao, which also led to technical fouls against Ray Allen, Lebron James, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.The Cavaliers (48-13) lead Boston (49-14) in winning percentage .787 to .778, though the Celtics take the lead in the head-to-head tiebreaker, 2-1, with an April 12 game in Cleveland remaining. Mo Williams led the way for the Cavaliers with 26 points, Lebron James had 21, and Anderson Varejao poured in 15. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 29 points but were mainly helped with 33 points off the bench compared to Cleveland's 15. The Cavaliers look to bounce back Saturday night at home against Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.

Reunited

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ynNiiPo_wLs/SbB4ppIJVSI/AAAAAAAAAEU/sTSEKZvvwhc/s320/joesmithlebronjames.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5309876617479804194" />
The Cleveland Cavaliers resign big man Joe Smith to a one year contract giving Cleveland extra front court depth in the absence of Ben Wallace. Seems to be a great fit since Smith played a total of 40 games last season with the Cavs (27 regular season 13 playoff) and two seasons with All star guard Mo Williams in Milwaukee. The addition will also give much needed rest time to center Zydrunas Ilgauskas late in the season. This is the Cavaliers fourth consecutive year to make the postseason, and this could be a potential first round preview. As usual Lebron James led the way in scoring pouring in 23 points, but Delonte West literally stole the show with a career high 8 steals. With the victory the Cavs move an astonishing 36 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history. The wins only get more and more important as the Cavaliers try to clinch the #1 seed in the Eastern conference and secure homecourt throughout. This victory puts Cleveland at an NBA best 27-1 at Quicken Loans Arena. Mo Williams also had a good outing against his former team scoring 15 points and dishing out 3 assists. Magic number for clinching the Central Division is now 6.
